when i FALL in love

These are some of the leaf pendants I made. I just walked out to the back door and came back with a Sugar Maple leaf. And the rest is history.
These pendants will go well with Fall Color Outfits at the Boutique. Ok, this is not the imprint of the leaves. I draw each one out, cut a small mesh wire and use it for reinforcement between two clay sheets, cut it out and hand draw (scribble) all the veins. My first year at Ball State U., during Plant Identification Class, we have to walked around campus and studied trees. We learned to ID trees by their leaves. By the time the final came, all the leaves were gone. and I was doomed. They let me passed the test anyway.

Kimono

This necklace reminds me of a red Kimono I got when my mom went to visit Japan in 1960. The red chunky coral beads are the nice complement with the black beads.

Black & White Swirly beads

Black and white bead always sell first at the Bead Show. I got to make more.

Shimmering Raku

I used Fimo metallic powder to make this Raku (look alike) beads.

Sugar Maple

I had always been fasinated with the color of the Sugar Maple's leaves in Autumn. It is so beautiful. The first year at BSU, I worked in the computer room up on the 5th floor. Looking out of the window to see the purplelish sky and yellowish-brown trees, I could spot my orangie Sugar Maple trees down below.
I hope this necklace went home with someone this Saturday.

Another Blue Necklace

Here is the different design using the same technique. I can feel the little foamy bubbles tingling between my toes.
It's the catch of the day.

She sells seashells on the seashore

This lovely blue necklace reminds me of the time I spend on the beach where sky is bright, water is blue and the white foam that is washed ashore with the waves. Except that the shells here are the Hill Tribe Silver beads from Thailand.

P.S. The technique I used was the same old Mugume Gane. I layered the different shades of blue on top of white, poked the holes with all kinds of thing and slided it in an angle.

More beads for Penrod

New design for Penrod - 2006

These are new design that will be premier at Penrod Atrs Fair on Saturday, September 9th, 2006. It is "the" Arts Show in Indy.
This is the dream come through for me to be excepted at Penrod. Such an honor!

Lovely buttons

I met a lovely lady at the recent Fashion Show at IRT(Indiana Repertory Theatre) who make a beautiful purse. She asked me if I could make a button for her purses and I did just that. These buttons are made to match perfectly with the color of the fabric and compliment the shape of the purses. It was fun and challenging and we both felt happy with the outcome.
I think making buttons could be my next career.

Pink Ribbon Beads

I create these beads for one of my customer who is a nurse. Since I neither master in caning nor want to learn how to cane pink ribbon in 2 days, I just cut out each ribbon and paste them on to the pink beads. No cane and no pain! I think it'd turned out pretty good.
With matching pink spacer beads, I think I will make a nice earrings for my friend, Susan.

More Heart Pendants

More heart pendants all dressed up and ready for the summer party.
I also consider sending these hearts to Hearts 4 Heroes program.
Might have to dress them down a little bit, but it might be fun to give them to those ladies who served our country oversea.

Here's my heart

Hot off the oven today. Here's my new design. Yummy color isn't it? I am finally convinced myself that I should make matching pieces for earrings and pendants. (Duh..)
After seeing some of Christi Friesen's work, polymer clay sculpture will be my next things since I can incorporate beads and other materials with it.

Bead&Button Show 2006

Ponsawan & Laura at Bead&Button Show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I had a pretty good show. Not selling as much as I would hope for but good enough to cover the expenses for the trip. I have met so many people I had long been admired. I met and talk to Polymer Clay artists, bought some books, new stamps and lots of new ideas.
Thanks Laura for giving me this opportunity.
P.S. I think Laura has the most beautiful beads in the whole show. Stop by at her booth next time.
